Community builder
We have a growing and thriving group of volunteers. If you have a passion for keeping a purpose-driven community connected and motivated, this is the role for you!
Resource content translators
We are looking for a lead translation manager who will then recruit and oversee a team of volunteers to translate our resource pages into the other three official languages — Chinese, Malay and Tamil — with the help of machine translation. Translation experience would be required. Candidates should ideally understand trans terminology and have copyediting experience in Chinese/Malay/Tamil. Reach out to us if you are interested!
Resource content writer
Join our team to upkeep our website content and contribute to the primary mission that TransgenderSG was founded for — to provide up to date information on transition and living life in Singapore.
Email responder
We’re urgently looking for transfeminine and transmasculine volunteers who will be able to respond to people who need help with transitioning and living life. Ideally, this volunteer should have already had some experience with social or medical transition (for at least one year). This volunteer will have to commit for at least a year due to the nature of our casework. You would need to be able to spare 1-2 hours a week.
Inclusive employment team
We need more people who care about getting transgender persons employed in inclusive workplaces! Help us to build our list of trans-friendly employers to erase workplace discrimination from our community. The team meets fortnightly online.
My Family Matters organising team
My Family Matters is organised with SAFE and Oogachaga, as a support group for family and partners of trans and LGB+ people, so that they are better supported when their loved ones come out. We organise talks and provide 1-to-1 private conversations with other parents who are further along in their journey. As part of a team, you will help with organising logistical needs for the event — from registration to communication with attendees. You would need to help organise an event once every 4 months.
Chope & Chatter events lead
We are looking for a second events lead for Chope & Chatter, our safe space social hangout where trans, intersex and non-binary people can form positive relationships. This lead will be responsible for coordinating a team handling vetting, registration and communication with participants and partners, as well as meeting logistical needs for the event. You would need to help organise an event once every 4 months.
Sponsorship team
Empower change by finding sponsors for TransSG programmes — join us in raising vital funds to support transgender community initiatives. The ideal candidate should have some fundraising experience. Be a part of our mission to create a more inclusive Singapore for transgender people!
Social media (video editors, videographers)
Videographers and video editors will assist in our expansion into TikTok and other vertical video platforms, helping us design and develop content for our TikTok accounts. They should have some experience with video editing software. Experience with PNGTuber or VTuber setups are also welcome.
Social media (photographers)
Photographers will assist in documenting events for social media and our website, contributing to our expanding bank of visuals. They should have experience taking pictures with a mirrorless or DSLR camera, and they should have experience taking images in anonymised settings.
Social media (graphic designers)
Graphic designers will assist in designing and creating visuals for our Instagram and LinkedIn posts. They should have some experience with Adobe Illustrator. Designers will have to produce a visual once every month or so.
