Support us

Proud Spaces

For a long time, trans people in Singapore had to rely on word of mouth for information on transitioning.

Information on the mere act of being ourselves was highly limited, and many of us received outdated and harmful advice.

We began as a resource, pooling together the collective knowledge and experiences of the transgender community to help each other navigate life in Singapore.

Now, we are working to tackle the multifold challenges facing our community.

When you support our work, you help advance trans inclusion and acceptance, and strengthen our social fabric.

How you can contribute

Monthly Pledge

You can set up a standing order with your bank to pledge a monthly fixed sum to TransSG. As we need to issue you an invoice, we would appreciate for lowest amounts to begin at $25 for 6 months.

Contributions will benefit our programmes and operations.

Trans-friendly employer directory

Proud Spaces

We have been building a public directory of employers who have committed to not discriminating against transgender people in the hiring process, ensuring that trans applicants stand the same chance at being hired as an equally-qualified non-transgender applicant.

My Family Matters support group

Proud Spaces

As trans children grow and become themselves, parents are likely to face a myriad of worries — from fears of discrimination at the workplace to acceptance by family and wider society.

Together with Oogachaga and SAFE, we run a support group for parents and family members of trans kids, so they understand what their loved ones are going through and can support each other through their transition.

Social media outreach

We run public social media campaigns on Instagram and other platforms so as to educate people about us and foster acceptance and understanding in wider society.

We also run media collaboration efforts and speak with journalists and content creators so they understand our community better.

Research and Advocacy

We regularly conduct or take part in research on the trans community in Singapore.

Our 2025 survey, conducted with NUS and Transbefrienders, was the most extensive study of our community, and details barriers to education, gender care, employment, legal sex marker change, and more. This was circulated to multiple Singapore government ministries and agencies. We actively engage with agencies together with other trans and LGBTQ+ organisation to reflect community concerns.

We are currently developing a community paper to better explain findings of the 2025 survey and are looking to launch it in Q3 2025. We will also run our next nationwide survey in 2028-2029, and will need the funds to continue to do so.

Public outreach for inclusion

Oogachaga

We also organise public talks and workshops for inclusion, where the participants can ask questions and find out more about our community, the challenges we face, and our work.

We have also conducted similar talks for healthcare professionals to better support the transgender community.

Chope & Chatter socials

Chope and Chatter is a safe-space social hangout where all trans, intersex and non-binary people can be their authentic selves.

We organise these socials to bring the community together and form healthy relationships, so that they don’t need to be alone in their struggles. By building friendships, our community will become more resilient.
